Megre

1 August 2026

Race report by 58&fam

Reunited after a few weeks of summer vacation apart, probably the longest we’ve been away from each other all year. It was definitely time for the little duo of Nattis & Maja to be back together again!

Just like last year, we took the ferry across the Baltic Sea to Latvia before driving on to Lithuania for Megre Gravel. The course wasn’t quite the same as last year though. A little more sand, a few less climbs, and overall a course where it was difficult to make a decisive move. Luckily, it felt pretty similar to the gravel roads we ride back home, so we felt right at home anyway.

A group of 11 riders formed fairly early on, with both of us in the mix. The pace stayed controlled until just past halfway, when the attacks started coming one after another. Little by little, the group split apart.

With around 10 km to go, only Nathalie and two other women remained at the front, fighting for the win. Megre Gravel really is a fantastic event, with an amazing organisation and atmosphere. Sometimes, though, things happen that are simply out of anyone’s control. With around 1.5 km to go, Nathalie lost contact with the two leaders when an age-group rider from one of the shorter distances sprinted past, cut across the road on a single-lane section, and forced her to brake hard to avoid a crash.

In the end, Nathalie crossed the line in 3rd and Maja finished 9th, two results we’re really proud of. More importantly, we both leave Lithuania with strong legs, good feelings, and another great weekend of racing together.

A huge thank you to the entire Megre team for putting on such a great event. We hope to be back again next year! 💛
